“Spotify keeps adding songs to my playlists in my specific folders, because Spotify thinks that I will like the Spotify-selected songs in my playlists. I DO NOT WANT SPOTIFY TO ADD ANY SONGS TO ANY OF MY PLAYLISTS. How can I stop Spotify from doing this?”

Well, in this article, we will show you how to stop Spotify from adding songs to your playlist, either you use Spotify free or Premium.

Contents

  1. Disable Smart Shuffle
  2. Turn off Autoplay Similar Content
  3. Turn off Enhance Playlist
  4. Add More Songs to Your Playlist
  5. Use cracked Spotify
  6. Download Spotify to MP3 and Listen Offline

1. Disable Smart Shuffle

Smart Shuffle is a play mode on Spotify to freshen your listening sessions by mixing in recommendations that match the vibe. When you turn the Smart Shuffle on, you’ll notice songs marked with a sparkle (✨) symbol mixed in your next playing queue, and those are recommendations Spotify thinks you may like. If there are certain recommended songs you’d rather not listen to, you can manually remove them by clicking the rounded minus button. If you want to prevent recommendations from showing up, you can disable the Smart Shuffle mode directly from the playlist.

Please note that Spotify Premium members can use the Smart Shuffle feature freely, while free users can only smart shuffle certain Spotify playlists such as those Made for You.

When the Smart Shuffle mode is activated for a playlist, you’ll notice the Shuffle symbol under the playlist name turning green with a sparkle. To turn off Smart Shuffle on your phone and computer, follow the guide below.

On Android and iPhone

  1. Open the Spotify app and go to a playlist.
  2. Tap the green Shuffle symbol with a sparkle.

On Desktop

  1. Launch the Spotify app on your Mac or Windows computer and go to the playlist.
  2. Click on the green Shuffle symbol with a sparkle. When it turns white, the Smart Shuffle mode is turned off.

Go to Settings > Playback > turn off the “Automix”.

3. Turn off Enhance Playlist

Update: Spotify has replaced Enhance feature with Smart Shuffle.

If you’re on Premium, and you see tracks that you haven’t personally added yourself in the playlist, you most likely have the Enhance feature turned on. You can find the Enhance button when you open up a playlist on your phone app, like shown on the picture. If the button is grayed out, the added songs should disappear.

4. Add More Songs to Your Playlist

If you’re using the free version of Spotify and your playlist has fewer than 15 songs, the app will automatically add more songs to the playlist under the “We added” section. If more than 15 tracks are added, the songs added by Spotify are automatically removed. So to stop Spotify rom adding songs to your playlist, make sure you have at least 15 songs in a playlist.

How to add more songs to your playlist?

On mobile

  1. Go to the playlist on the Spotify app and tap + Add to this playlist.
  2. Tap the rounded plus button to add a suggested song to your playlist, or Search for a song and then tap the rounded plus button to add it to the playlist.

On desktop

  1. Open Spotify app or web player and click the playlist.
  2. Scroll down to the Recommended part, find the songs you like and click Add button on the right side to add to the playlist.

You can also buy Spotify Premium or use Spotify on computer(website or app) to stop this from happening.

5. Use cracked Spotify

Instead of upgrading to Spotify premium, you can also use cracked Spotify for iOS and Android to stop Spotify adding songs to your playlist.
